Artikel : Solat Istikharah

Sebenarnya amalan Solat Sunat Istikharah ini skopnya lebih luas. Kita kadang-kadang tidak diberikan peringatan dalam soal ini. Sedangkan amalan Solat Istikharah ini sangat-sangat di galakkan oleh Rasulullah sebagaimana disebut dalam hadis yang diriwayatkan oleh Imam Bukhari;

Mengikut beberapa buah kitab seperti Kitab Minyatul Musolli, Sabilal Muhtadin dan Sairus Salikin, secara ringkasnya cara melakukan Solat Istikharah adalah seperti berikut;

contohnya selepas maghrib.

Niatnya ‘Sahaja aku sembahyang sunat istikharah dua rakaat kerana Allah ta’ala´

Traffic Jam - Morning Class!!!!

The Jumpstart Creativity class started last week. The 3 hour class had me dragging myself up early in the morning just to join the daily morning rush to the office. It is such a crazy morning as there are 3 tight spots of traffic jams that I must go through. Such a headache!

1st one is the traffic after the Batu 9 toll of Grand SagaHighway in front of the Pheonix Plaza... crazyyyyyyyyyyyy... it is due to the construction of the new highway to replace the small road... which is taking agessss!!! What is the point of paying high tolls and still being stuck in a massive traffic jam?!?!?! cessssssssss...

2nd one is the roundabout at the junction of Jalan Cheras and MMR2... I have to get onto the MRR2 as it is the only direct way to go to college. So this roundabout is a hassle. However, it is slightly better than last time as now there is traffic light at the junction. Last time, no traffic light, it will take agessss just to take the 3-oclock junction.. phew!

3rd one will be the underpass before the exit to Pandan Indah or Jaya (or Pandan something lah) this is one of the crucial point on MRR2 that is always congested no matter what time of the day.

Due to all these reasons, I have to leave my house at least 1 1/2hours before class. such as longgggggggggg way kan... this is to ensure that I reach college early at least 10 minutes before class... (normally I reached 30 minutes before... hehehe)

Howeeverrrrrrrrrr... there are mornings where I overslept and have to rush myself to class and barely make it on time... phew!!!

TRAFFIC JAM in the morning ... ARRGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH....

Kisah mula dulu kala
Bila hati jatuh cinta
Ku terkenang raut wajah
Bila ku pejam mata

Tawa riang ubat luka
Teringat kau yang disana
Lagu ini khas ku gubah
Untukmu sayang

Ooohhh.... Ooohhh.... Ooohhh....
Hatiku mula bosan ... (mula bosan)
Rindu padamu bulan
Kemudiannya kau datang

Ye ye ye...
Ku sangka kau riang (kau riang)
Rupanya halau ku pulang
3 bulan di Semenyih

Choir Songs @ Form 1, 1992

Yesterday Once More
(The Carpenters)
When I was young
I'd listen to the radio
Waitin' for my favorite songs
When they played I'd sing along
It made me smile.

Those were such happy times
And not so long ago
How I wondered where they'd gone
But they're back again
Just like a long lost friend
All the songs I loved so well.

Every Sha-la-la-la
Every Wo-o-wo-o
Still shines
Every shing-a-ling-a-ling
That they're startin' to sing's
So fine.

When they get to the part
Where he's breakin' her heart
It can really make me cry
Just like before
It's yesterday once more.
-----

Oh thank you Maam!

Isn't she sweet?
Oh yeah! I know she is sweet
Isn't she great?
Oh yeah! I know she is great
I'd like to thank her

Oh thank you maam!
Thank you maam for everything!
For all that you have done.

I am so sad
I'm so sad that she is leaving us

Goodbye we are here to tell you
Goodbye to our headmistress
Goodbye we long to see you again.

You are a gift from above
You are devoted and true
When the going gets though
You are loving, caring, and we would like to thank you!

Oh thank you maam!
Thank you maam for everything!
For all that you have done.

-----

These two songs were the song I sang in a choir when I was in form 1 back in 1992. phew! very long time ago... ahahha... The 2nd song was devoted to our headmistress who was retiring. Unfortunately I cannot remember who that is. I also cannot remember who wrote this song... hahahha such fun times... I found this songs in a piece of paper in one of the note books. The original paper and original handwriting in 1992! ahahah...

I learn a lot of things from their culture including their languages. However, like I mention before, I might have forgotten some of the pronunciation of these words, so better double check with an expert ya. As for Leeway, even though now she is working in Singapore, so near compared to the Philippines, I have yet being able to meet up with her... one day we will meet again dear Leeway!

This is another language which intrigued me. The only reason was because of Catalin Popescu. My dear pen pal from Romania. He is one of my earliest pen pals and the friendship blossomed quickly. I can't quite remember when exactly we started writing to each other (but most probably Cata will!)... but I remember that I will always look forward to his letters and emails. There is always things to share and stories to read. Nowadays, even though we are being caught up in the hustle and bustle of our lives far far away from each other, we still keep in touch via the emails... and various friendship networks that is available out there...

I used to be fascinated by all the others languages in the world, German included. I used to keep a small note book which comprises all the useful phrases in the languages that I am interested in learning... After I moved to my own house a few months back, I have been slowly unpacking all the boxes that contains many memorabilia and notes/information from all the programs that I have been to... and I found many notebooks containing many useful information like these. However, I an unable to recall all the right pronunciation of all these foreign words. So you might want to refer to the expects in order to learn the right way to say these words... oh ya, I do have one German friend - Karsten... he came to Malaysia few years back for some youth programs... I wonder what is he been up too lately... hmmm...

My Declaration of Self-Esteem

I am me. In all the world, there is no one else exactly like me. There are people who have some parts like me but no one adds up exactly like me. Therefore, everything that comes out of me is authentically mine because I alone choose it.

I own everything about me - my body, including everything it does; my mind, including all my thoughts and ideas; my eyes, including the images of all they behold; my feeling, whatever they might me - anger, joy, frustration, love, disappointment, excitement; my mouth and all the words that come out of it - polite, sweet and rough, correct or incorrect; my voice, loud ans soft; all my actions, whether they be to others or myself.

I own my fantasies, my dreams, my hopes, my fears.

I own all my triumphs and successes, all my failures and mistakes. Because I own all of me, I can become intimately acquainted with me in all my parts.

I can love me and be friendly with me in all my parts. I can then make it possible for all of me to work in my best interests. I know there are aspects of myself that puzzles me, and other aspects that I don't know. But as long as I am friendly and loving to myself, I can courageously and hopefully look for the solutions to the puzzles and for ways to find to more about me.

However I look and sound, whatever I say and do, and whatever I think and feel at a given moment in time is me. This is authentic and represents where I am at that moment in time.

When I review later how I looked and sounded, what I said and did, and how I thought and felt, some parts may turn out to be unfitting. I can discard that which is unfitting and keep that which proved fitting, and invent something new for that which I discarded.

I can see, hear, feel, think, say and do. I have tools to survive, to be close to others, to be productive, to make sense and order out of the world of people and things of me.

I own me and therefore I can engineer me.

I am me and I am Okay

(Virginia Satir : Chicken Soup for the Soul)

An article I wrote in 2004

Kuala Lumpur is not a friendly city for the physically challenged people, as many buildings and public transportation do not allow them to move freely in their wheelchair.

Most of the public transportation such as the bus services, LRT, Monorail, Commuter and ERL are only accessible if they have someone to help them out.

The number of physically challenged individuals out in shopping complexes, theater halls, national library, or any other public place are very small.

Most buildings and public transportation do not have an alternative pathway apart from the stairs in order for them to fully utilize the facilities.

They have no choice but to stay at home as they cannot travel outside their house on their own without any assistant.

"There is no point coming out of the house, as there is not many place that are accessible for us in the wheelchair," said Encik Ismail sho was wheelchair bounded since childhood.

Every state of the art building fully equipped with advanced technological equipments that is being build should always gives enough considerations to this community.

However, currently only limited access was given to them including the restrooms build for the physically challenged people in public places, which are not enough.

Every Malaysian from all walks of life must be able to enjoy all the public places and facilities by the government

This article was written as an exercise in the CIJ Journalism Skills Training 25-26Sept04. I used to be a volunteer for CIJ in 2004. This one-and-a-half-day course was designed (1) to train CIJ volunteers who are interested in contributing to their media and radio projects and also (2) to encourage people to write about their community and issues affecting them.

Memory Lane : GKII March 2000

During my single mingle life, I was an active person, participating in various activities and events. Even before that in high school and primary school, I was participating in soo many persatuan and kelab... I did a lot of things in high school and one of the highlight was being the EDITOR for the school magazine... MUTIARA BANDARAYA 96. Yoohoo! one of my dream too... since I love to write...

Even in college years, I took the Mass Communication course (no surprise there!) haha... doing Public Relations. Since private college have limited extra curricular activities... I got bored... due to the fact that the whole to and fro process every single day! So as any restless teenager would do... (or youth adult since it is already college years) I went out to find my own activities! no no... not clubbing and not rempit also... (no motor license anyway), I explored my options in events and actitivies in the real world. Which I did... yohoo...

GKII was the first international conference I was involved in... as a youth volunteer, and I must say that it was the first step of everything else that happened in my life. (GKII-Global Knowledge II)...It was one of the best! I learned a lot and I met lots of new friends!...

* The second Global Knowledge Conference (GKII), hosted by the Government of Malaysia, focused on building knowledge societies through the process of identifying practical means to harness information, knowledge and new technologies to promote equity, fairness, social justice, empowerment and informed decision-making. Over 1000 people from more than 120 countries met in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to consider the special challenges facing communities and nations in the rapidly changing information and communications environment.

Access, Empowerment and Governance - three crucial elements in building equitable and sustainable Knowledge Societies - formed the core themes of GKII. In the context of these themes, GKII also focused on the importance of empowering women and youth through the use of information and communications technologies (ICTs) and highlighted the role of the media in facilitating greater access to, and thereby promoting, knowledge for development.*

Danial & water...

My dear Danial just cant see the sight of water... he will obviously rush to it while shouting... "air, air, air" (water, water, water). It includes all swimming pools, fish ponds, water fountains in shopping complexes, inflated pools , the water parks ... and of course his own bath tub in the toilet...

Once he is in the water, he will just stay there and not come out... even though he have turn blue and eyes all red and sneezing and achoooinggg... so normally... usually we have to force him out of the water ...

see... first just the hands...

and then... off he goes into the water!!! this was yesterday at a birthday party of the neighbor in front of Danial's grandfather's house...

Danial have his own pool at home... one at his makngah's house... at atoks house in KK... one big bathtub for him... (and his dad also jumps inside too)... not forgetting Danial's own tub in the bathroom at home...

He also have been to a few water parks, Desa Waterpark, Bukit Merah waterpark... some Hot Spring water park in BP... and I am sure that his list will continue to add on... as time goes by...

I hope that with all these connection with water, Danial will learn how to swim... like his dad... not like his mom...(who don't know how to swim, but still love water... especially waterfalls...) oh yea... Danial have been to the Sg Gabai waterfall as well...!!!
